Activities
On your request, we can arrange for serveral activities as mentioned below. As an extra service, we can provide you with a mobile phone, so you can always reach us when necessary.
Hiking
Hiking
In the neighbourhood of our guesthouse, you can walk in the beautiful countryside. It’s also possible to take a long distance GR-trail, to enjoy the wider surrounding area, and if you don’t want to walk the trail back, we can provide our guests with a mobile phone, so we can pick you up along the road to bring you home (for a small fee). Maps of GR-trails or neighbouring countryside are available in our guesthouse.
Cycling
Cycling
The surroundings are also very well suited for those who love to cycle. We have mountainbikes available for hire.
At the village of El Pinell de Brai, a bicycle-trail of unique beauty had been constructed on the route of an old railway-track.
The Via Verde del Baix Ebre takes you from El Pinell de Brai, Benifallet, Xerta to Tortosa along the river Ebro. Even on a citybike this trail is not hard to complete (ca. 27 km).
The Via Verde de Terra Alta cuts right across the mountains (ca. 23 km). On it’s way there are fantastic scenic views. The route of the old railway takes you along stations, some beautiful waterfalls, reservoirs and en route you can visit some lovely villages such as Fontcalda, Bot and Horta de Sant Juan.
The whole network of bicycle-trail covers about 200 kilometer.
Canoeing
You can also enjoy the surroundings by means of a trip on a canoe (on the river de Ebro). We have available for hire Canadian canoes.
Fishing Excursions
We can offer you a all-in week or mid-week fishing excursion. Image the possibilty of catching a catfish of about 2 meters long! For more information, call us or send us an email.
If you want to fish for only one day that should be no problem. But of course you have to make a reservation in advance.
Beach / sea
Or ‘vamos a la playa’, enjoy unspoilt beautiful sandy beaches of the Mediterranean only 40 minutes away (by car). Hospitalet de’infant is a seaside place, not too crowded with tourists yet, but don’t tell anyone else! Every Sunday, they have a cosy little market at Hospitalet de l’infant. You can also take a daytrip on a boat, to visit all seaside places in the area.
Health / Spa-resort
Relax and enjoy yourself in the health & spa-resort, Montbrió del Camp (near Tarragona).
In 2003, this resort was named as ‘best Resort and Spa of Europe’. It is situated in a splendid botanic garden of 4 hectares.

Camposines
Gerenoveerde bunker met diverse plakkaten met daarop het levensverhaal van gesneuvelde soldaten van diverse nationaliteiten. Tevens de plek waar boeren de resten van soldaten kunnen brengen die zij gevonden hebben. De soldaten worden daar dan begraven.
Horta Sant Joan
This has been the residence of Picasso for several years (his blue period). The village Horta has got a beautiful mediaeval centre.
Miravet
This village with an old castle is situated on the top of a hill near the river Ebro
ElPinell de Brai
Starting-point of a walking and clycling rail of unique beauty. In the village you will find a storage/cellar for grapes and wine (Catedral de Vino)
Gandesa
Here there are impressive buildings of the coorparative, designed by a student of Gaudi. Gandesa also has a war-museum, as a reminder of the Spanish Civil War.
Batea
A little town also with a beautyful mediaeval centre.
